There is enough staff, and they are accessible and responsive when needed. The building and grounds seem to be well maintained. She seems to really like the activities. They are good about emailing or calling to answer any of our questions or address any of our concerns. It's defintely exceded our expectations. Federal law requires all nursing homes to provide enough staff to safely care for residents. However, there is no current federal standard for the best nursing home staffing levels.
They have all of their common areas on the first level and the residents live on the second, third, and fourth floors. I was pretty impressed with the staff that I met. They had a hair salon, and I like the fact that The Sheridan has signed on a third party for all the physical therapy. They bring an outside company onsite and they do it right there for the residents, and it seemed a little bit more professional to me. They have a grand piano in their main lobby and they have entertainers come and perform there.

I went to The Sheridan at Park Ridge. The staff was very, very good, very friendly, and very helpful. I watched them in the dining room with the residents in both the residence and in memory care.

They seem to make a concerted effort to get people together and gather them around. I think people are able to be as busy as they want to be. The presentation of the food is great. They offer two different choices, which is nice. I think the servers are very attentive.
